Mitchison Road Surgery will be hosting a Health & Wellness Open Day for all members of the public on Wednesday 26th August 2015 between 2.00pm and 4.00pm, behind the surgery in the Mercers’ House Garden.
The event aims to promote the role and benefits of Mitchison Road Surgery, as well as to raise awareness about and allow patients to experience a number of local healthcare service providers accessible through the surgery for patients and residents of Islington.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet PPG representatives and members of practice staff.
The programme includes Hillside Clubhouse, a provider of personalised support and social inclusion for people with mental health needs, as well as iCope who help adults of all ages to feel more able to cope with psychological problems through therapies.
London Ambulance Service will also be on hand, demonstrating CPR techniques to children and adults and how to use a defibrillator, together with New River Green Children’s Centre who provide education and care support for children aged 6 months to 5 years.
Age UK Islington will have representatives raising awareness about their streamlined approach to health and social care to support older people in Islington whilst Islington Carers Hub will be giving advice, information and support to carers.
AT Medics practices schedule regular PPG meetings with SMS reminders, dedicated PPG notice boards and a translator if necessary, and are delighted to be hosting this event at Mitchison Road Surgery.
Omar Din, AT Medics Head of Marketing & Communications said “Our aim for this event is to improve patient experience at Mitchison Road Surgery and to extend an invitation to the wider community to join us on Wednesday 26th August when our surgery becomes an open house. This is the first ever health and wellness event for Mitchison Road Surgery, and we are delighted to coincide this with our recent acceptance of a caretaker contract for the surgery.”
Mitchison Road Surgery is committed to delivering high quality care focused on patient needs and safety, and is working to achieve clinical improvement through the implementation and advancement of quality systems, as well as continually reviewing and investing in training and education of staff.
